HOW THE SHEERLUXE MIDDLE EAST TEAM IS CELEBRATING EID
What they’re wearing, gifting, and carrying into summer.
After a month of reflection, Eid arrives with a shift in pace. The focus turns to gathering, giving, and showing up well. For the SheerLuxe Middle East team, it’s a moment shaped as much by tradition as by personal ritual: family lunches, thoughtful gifting, and styling looks from the ground up. We asked the team to share how they’re spending Eid this year, from what’s on their wishlists to what’s on the table.
Eid Al-Fitr is incredibly special, especially after a month of fasting during Ramadan. In my family, we have a weekly ritual, a weekend lunch with my parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. During Ramadan, that tradition shifts to iftar, so the first lunch together afterwards always feels meaningful.
Growing up, one of the things I looked forward to most was receiving Eidiya, that small but exciting tradition that makes Eid feel magical as a child. It’s quite surreal now to find myself on the other side of it, giving Eidiya to my nieces and nephews as they’ve grown old enough to appreciate it.
This year, we’re celebrating Eid with a heavy heart, given what’s happening in our region. But in many ways, it reminds us why we observe these practices: to give back to our community, reconnect with one another, and prioritise family. Two things can exist at once; we can celebrate and treat ourselves while also remembering those who need support the most.
New clothes and gifts are a big part of Eid. It’s a time to treat ourselves and the people we love. Gathering with family is non-negotiable. Every year, we come together for an Eid lunch. The restaurant might change, but attendance is always mandatory. It’s one of those traditions that makes the day feel complete.
I tend to gravitate towards silhouettes that feel timeless and elegant. Studio Amelia is always my go-to for heeled sandals. For flats, it’s Alaïa, a pair can elevate almost any look while still feeling chic and comfortable. Even though Eid dressing is typically during the day, I still lean into statement accessories. I love big sculptural rings, and I’ve been into oversized sunglasses lately.
When it comes to hosting, putting effort into the setup makes a big difference. Creating a space that feels festive and welcoming sets the tone. Food is also key. Eid is a time to indulge, so it’s not the moment to hold back. More than anything, it’s about being surrounded by the people you love.
I like to plan ahead when it comes to gifting, subtly asking loved ones about their wishlists long before Eid arrives so I can surprise them with something I know they genuinely want. I’m quite a specific gift giver. I don’t love giving something unless I know it will be enjoyed. If I’m unsure, I’ll go for something timeless: a gold or silver clutch, a great pair of sunglasses, or a versatile tote for everyday use.
Eid always marks the moment when I start leaning into lighter, more effortless dressing. It reminds me to embrace moments of celebration and togetherness, something I try to carry into the months that follow.

This year, Eid feels especially centred around community, family, and the people closest to you. After the reflection of Ramadan, it’s a time to come together and celebrate those moments with loved ones.
One of my favourite rituals is the lead-up to Eid, getting my hair and nails done, picking out a new outfit, and then coming together for a family lunch to celebrate.
I tend to lean towards kaftans or something flowy for Eid. It feels fitting for the occasion and keeps that sense of ease after Ramadan. I also love pieces with a bit of movement, like fringes or feathers, that add something special and lift the mood.
A great Eid gathering starts with a thoughtful tablescape and beautiful homeware. I’m a big fan of Léa Sfeir’s Ramadan collection, which works perfectly alongside traditional Arabic sweets and bite-sized dishes for guests to share.
In my culture, gifting gold jewellery has always been a tradition. It’s something meaningful that can be kept and passed down through generations. For other loved ones, I usually gravitate towards thoughtful pieces like homeware, jewellery, accessories, things that feel special yet easy to enjoy every day.
Ramadan is a time to feel grounded and reconnect with what truly matters, so Eid naturally carries that same sense of intention and celebration. It’s something I’d love to take into summer, both in my lifestyle and my wardrobe, which leans towards flowing silhouettes, vibrant colours, and joyful pieces that feel effortless to wear.

Eid is a celebration of love, community, family, and friends. Ever since moving to Dubai 16 years ago, I’ve always looked forward to celebrating Ramadan with my friends who observe it. It’s a beautiful time to come together, share meals, and celebrate the end of the month.
One of my favourite Eid traditions is going over to my friends’ homes for breakfast. It’s always a festive way to start the day. This year will be my first Ramadan in our new home with my husband, so we might start our own ritual by hosting breakfast and inviting friends over.
I always like to mix local designers with international or high-street brands. I recently got a bag from Vanina that I can’t wait to wear to an Eid gathering. I’ll probably style it with chic trousers and a festive top with sequins or a fun print. Heels are definitely part of the look, especially mules.
When hosting, fresh flowers are essential; vases of them instantly elevate the table. Great food is key, and there should always be a proper dessert table. I also love adding small details like fun napkins and colorful glasses.
For gifting, I usually opt for gift cards to one of their favourite stores or something thoughtful for the home. You can never go wrong with candles from Dubai-based brand Dastaangoi, they make such lovely gifts.
I’d love to continue the habit of eating dinner earlier, around 6:30pm. It feels like a great practice and is much easier on the body. I also think maintaining a daily practice of gratitude, however small, is a beautiful habit to carry forward.
