What age did you know you wanted to design shoes?
When I finished school in the US, I tried different areas of the business, like sales and logistics, but I never felt passionate about any of them. During a family meeting, we realised the importance of the know-how and knowledge that was being transferred from generation to generation. My father was a master artisan and started to bring me under his wing when I was in my early twenties. It was hard at first but after a few years, I really enjoyed the creative work we were accomplishing. The attention to detail, the passion and the search for perfection were key.

What makes the perfect pair of shoes?
My father and I always joke around that there is no perfect pair of shoes. We keep modifying them and always tweaking a millimeter here or there. Once we finish a collection, we keep working on the next one, but never forget to improve the old one. We may be obsessed with perfection, that is what keeps us moving forward. A shoe is great when it feels comfortable, makes you look stylish and enhances your wardrobe.

What appeals to you about the Middle East?
I have always enjoyed the rich history and serenity. My experience of the culture, food and beautiful scenery help to develop inspiration for new designs, colours and textures for the market.

How do you hope to reach the Middle Eastern customer?
The Middle Eastern customer is fashionable and quality driven. They prefer shoes to enhance a smart look with a unique touch of distinction. But most importantly, they need comfort. The weather and daily routines make it necessary; style and comfort must be one.

What can customers expect from the brand?
We listen to customer demands. Customers expect quality, comfort and unique designs at a competitive price. Our brand offers customers an ideal balance of quality and comfort at a modest cost and I think this is key to our success around the world. We plan to continue to innovate in design and technology to further our success in this competitive market.

What are three things you love about Level Shoes?
The first thing I noticed about Level Shoes is the size. It's an impressive place for a complete shoe experience with wonderful staff. I really love the taste level and product selection available for the consumer. The attention to detail of the store is exceptional. For anyone interested in shoes or fashion, it is a great place to experience the breadth of our industry.

How do you see the concept of dapper elegance for Middle Eastern men?
We focus on combining a smart look with comfort features. We´ve been very successful during these years in Level Shoes with the smart and dress loafer lines. They are made in soft, hand-painted leathers for comfort and have contemporary silhouettes to showcase design. The importance of showing a touch of distinction and feeling comfortable together is our focus. Now, we are in a bigger space and can offer our casual lines. They have the same Magnanni DNA as our dress styles, but with modern sport designs as inspiration.

In your opinion, what are the three things an elegant man should and should not do?
