In conversation with Buanne Founder, Alan Buanne
What is this season's most talked about shoe?
The Chasca. With most spending more time at home, the sling-back style is ideal for time spent indoors. It’s made from soft nubuck leather and the closed toe design looks great with simple tailoring.
What inspired you to create Buanne?
To offer men a contemporary, stylish alternative to sneakers. After studying and training in Florence, Italy I became passionate about non-sneaker footwear and wanted to create something within the contemporary arena that was compelling, versatile and comfortable.
What are some Contemporary Designers you’re loving right now?
I keep my eye to architecture, books, films and history for inspiration. I love dressing in simple black T-shirts and trousers, whilst allowing my footwear choices to make the statement.
How do you feel about Middle East fashion?
It was the first place to welcome Buanne as a brand and there is an incredible synergy between us and the region. We design collections in monochromatic and earth tones which connect strongly with the colour palette of the men’s fashion there.
What can customers expect?
An alternative to sneakers, anchored by Italian-made quality. To maintain some of the traditional craftmanship techniques whilst forging a sustainable future for the wider industry. The heel height sets the mood and the toe shape forming the personality for the wearer.
What are three things you love most about Level Shoes?
The variety of depth of brands available, which is just unlike anywhere else in the world. If you were ever looking for something, you’re likely to find it at Level Shoes. The team ensures that they are choosing dynamic styles, so you always know you’re going to find an incredible selection.
