In 1890, Edward Green began to make hand-crafted shoes for gentlemen in a small factory in Northampton. He soon gained the reputation for making ‘the finest shoes in England for the discerning few’; a reputation founded on the skill of his craftsmen and his belief in excellence. Today the high standards remain, with each pair of the brand’s shoes being hand-made, using only the finest quality calfskin. Each pair takes several weeks to make and many skilled craftsmen are involved.
